The Animal Fair.

We went to the animal fair, the birds and the bees were there,
The big baboon by the light of the moon was combing his auburn hair.
The monkey fell out of his bunk , and slid down the elephants trunk,
The elephant sneezed and fell on his knees,
And what became of the monkey! (monkey,  monkey,  . . . etc.)

Alice the Camel  (or if you are a Guestwell Scout, Alex)

Alice the camel has 10 humps, Alice the camel has 10 humps
Alice the camel has 10 humps, so go, Alice, GO!!
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.
[Continue with 9, 8, 7 . . . humps, until . . . ]
Alice the camel has no humps, Alice the camel has no humps
Alice the camel has no humps, ‘cause Alice is a HORSE!!

Be Kind To Your Web Footed Friend,

Be kind to your web footed friend,
For a duck may be somebody's mother
She lives in a hole in a swamp
Where the weather is always damp
You may think that this is the end:
Well it is, but to prove that we're all liars
We're going to sing it again,
But only this time we will sing a little higher

Bingo Was His Name-o

There was a farmer had a dog and Bingo was his name-o’
B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, and Bingo was his name-o.
Sing song through six times, the first time just spelling out
the name BINGO; second time, clap the ‘B’ and spell out the last four letters; third time, clap the ‘B’ and the ‘I’
and spell out
the last three letters; etc., until all five letters are clapped
out.

[Group echoes.]

The moose's name was Fred...... he liked to drink his juice in bed

He drank his juice with care......but he spilt some in his hair

All his hair went stiff.......so he combed it in a quiff

His friends began to laugh......so he had to take a bath

As the water went down......Fred the moose began to drown

(chorus this time only:)

Now let's all count to five......Fred the moose is back alive

(Singing way-oh way-oh...etc.)

Do Your Ears Hang Low?

Do your ears hang low, do they wobble to and fro?
Can you tie them in a knot, can you tie them is a bow?
Can you sling them over your shoulder like a regimental soldier?
Do your ears hang low?

Everywhere We Go!

With this song, the leader sings a line and everyone sings it back or repeats it, like an echo and gradually gets louder until you are shouting as loudly as you can, last line is 'they must be deaf"

 Everywhere we go,

People always ask us,

Who we are,

And where do you come from,

So we tell them,

Were from Guestwell,

Mighty Mighty Guestwell,

And if they cannot here us,

Were sing it a bit louder

One Man went to Mow

One man went to mow

Went to mow a meadow

One man

and his dog, Spot

Over the Irish Sea

When I was one, I had just begun
The day I went to sea
I jumped aboard a pirate ship and the captain said to me,
“We’re going this way, that way, forward and back
Over the Irish Sea.
A bottle of Rum to soothe my tum,
And that’s the life for me.

When I was two, I tied my shoe . . .
When I was three, I bumped my knee . . .
When I was four, I shut the door . . .
When I was five, I was still alive . . .
When I was six, I gathered sticks . . .
When I was seven, I was almost in heaven . . .
When I was eight, I closed the gate . . .
When I was nine, I was feeling fine . . .
When I was ten, I started over again . . .

She Sat Beneath the Lilacs

She sat beneath the laics and played her guitar,
Played her guitar, strummed her guitar.
She sat beneath the liacs and played her guitar,
Played her gui-ta-a-a-ar.

He sat down beside her and smoked his cigar...
Smoked his cigar, smoked his cigar
He sat down beside her and smoked his cigar
Smoked his cig-a-a-a-ar,

He said that he loved her but, oh! How he lied...

They were to be married but somehow she died...

He went to her funeral but just for the ride...

He went to her grave site and laughed 'til he cried...

The grave stone fell over and squish-squash he died...

She went up to heaven and flittered and flied...

He went to the other place and sizzled and fried...

The moral of this song is: don't tell a lie...

The Other Day

Leader sings lines one at a time, singers repeat :

The other day ...
I met a bear ...
A great big bear...
Away out there! ...

He looked at me...
I looked at him ...
He sized up me ...
I sized up him! ...

He said to me ...
"Why don't you run?...
I see you ain't ...
Got any gun!" ...

And so I ran ...
Away from there...
But right behind ...
Me was that bear! ...

Ahead of me...
There was a tree ...
A great big tree ...
Oh, glory be! ...

The nearest branch ...
Was ten feet up ...
I'd have to jump ...
And trust my luck! ...

And so I jumped...
Into the air...
But I missed that branch ...
Away up there! ...

Now don't you fret...
Now don't you frown,...
'Cause I caught that branch ....
On the way back down! ...

Three Wood Pigeons

Three wood pigeons, three wood pigeons,
Three wood pigeons sitting in a tree.

Group: Aww! Wailing

Leader: Look! Another ones flown away!
Group: Oh-h-h! Louder wailing
One wood pigeon, one wood pigeon, etc.
Leader: Oh-oh! The last ones flow away!
Group: Oh-h-h! Very loud wailing
No wood pigeons, no wood pigeons, etc.
Leader: But, wait! One come back!
Group: Ah-h! Joyfully
One wood pigeon, one wood pigeon, etc.
Leader: Now, another ones come back!
Group: Loud cheers
Two wood pigeons, two wood pigeons, etc.
Leader: Hurray! The third ones back!
Group: Tremendous cheers

Trek Cart Song

Over hill, over dale
As we hit the river trail
And the trek cart keeps rolling along.
In and out hear us shout
Gee, I'm glad that I'm a scout,
And the trek cart keeps rolling along.

CHORUS:
Singing Hi, Hi, He,
That's the life for me
Start the day and end it with a song
Where ever you go, you will always know
That the  trek cart is rolling along,

All our kits a heavy load, still we take the open road
And the trek cart keeps rolling along.
Down the lane, mind that drain, never mind those spots of rain
And the trek cart keeps rolling along.

Forget the car, the four wheel drive, let's keep our boyhood dreams alive
And the trek cart keeps rolling along.
No care of fuel or mpg, we run all day on a cup of tea
And the trek cart keeps rolling along.

We Are The Red Men

We are the Red Men, tall and quaint,
In our feathers and war paint :
Pow-wow, pow-wow,
We're the men of the Old Dun Cow.
All of us are Red Men,
Feathers-in-our-head-men,
Down-among-the-dead-men,
Pow-wow,
Pow-wow.

We can fight with sticks and bones,
Bows and arrows, slings and stones,
Pow-wow, pow-wow,
We're the men of the Old Dun Cow.
All of us are Red Men,
Feathers-in-our-head-men,
Down-among-the-dead-men,
Pow-wow,
Pow-wow.

We come back from hunts and wars,
Greeted by our long-nosed squaws,
Pow-wow, pow-wow,
We're the men of the Old Dun Cow.
All of us are Red Men,
Feathers-in-our-head-men,
Down-among-the-dead-men,
Pow-wow,
Pow-wow.
